1. Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes, the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights is a non-profit organization registered with the federal government under IRS tax code 501(c)(3); all donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law. Our tax ID is 94-3252009.

2. Is my credit card safe?

Absolutely. The security and confidentiality of your information is our highest priority. We use industry-standard SSL (secure socket layer) technology to protect your information and provide a safe and secure environment for online donations. The Ella Baker Center is compliant with Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards.

3. Do you share, sell or rent your mailing list?

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with anyone else, nor do we send donor mailings on behalf of other organizations. We will only share personal information if you have given us specific permission to do so.

4. Can I make an anonymous donation?

All requests by donors for anonymity will be honored, except to the extent that the Ella Baker Center is required by law to disclose the identity of donors.

5. What is your privacy policy?

All information about donors and prospective donors, including but not limited to their names, the names of their beneficiaries, the nature and amounts of their gifts, and the sizes of their estates will be kept confidential by the Ella Baker Center and its representatives, unless the donor grants permission to release such information. All requests by donors for anonymity will be honored, except to the extent that the Ella Baker Center is required by law to disclose the identity of donors.

6. Does the Ella Baker Center have a financial audit?

Yes, we hire an independent accounting firm to complete a full financial audit every year. Audits are available upon request. Our 990 tax forms are also available through Foundation Center.
